Ray Estolano is an experienced trial attorney with 18 years of experience. He has been a prosecutor and now represents clients in immigration, family law and criminal defense cases.
Ray has worked for two District Attorney’s Offices. For the San Diego District Attorney’s Office, he handled complex interstate child support litigation. For the Imperial County District Attorney’s Office, he was a deputy district attorney who prosecuted some of the most serious felony offenses in the county.
Recognition as an Attorney
He has been voted best attorney by the readers of the Chula Vista Star News on multiple occasions. He currently (as of 6/23/2017) holds a perfect rating of 10.0 in Avvo. Perhaps, the finest compliment was paid to him by a former adversary (a prosecutor) who later hired him to handle his own divorce. He commented that it was about time that he had Ray Estolano on his side!
Biographical – A kid from Chula Vista
The child of Mexican and Asian parents, Ray is fluent in Spanish and is dedicated to offering clients in San Diego a high level of representation for reasonable rates. His office is in Chula Vista, CA. This is the same community where he attended elementary school, high school and now lives with his wife Maria. In his spare time, Ray is active in the community through various non-profit groups.
Ray’s courtroom style has always been amiable, but aggressive. One defense attorney nicknamed him the “Smiling Assassin” because of his unflappable demeanor as a prosecutor. To Ray, courtroom presentation is always about persuading your audience that your client is right. Where other attorneys might scream or yell, Ray focuses on persuading the judge or jury at their level.

Some Personal Details
The picture that you see above is accurate. Ray lost about 134 pounds through Kaiser’s positive choice program (basically a shake meal replacement program.) He now uses cycling and a better diet to try to stay close to his college weight, but credits the positive choice staff with saving his life!
This page is an introduction to attorney Ray Estolano. Ray and the staff look forward to meeting you in personal in the near future if we can be of service.

How is child support calculated? In California, the Court will use what is called the California Guideline. We can run an estimate for you in the office.
What happens to the property in the marriage? In California, property acquired during marriage is presumed to be community property, but there are exceptions.
How does this all come together? Whether you are going through a divorce or a paterntiy action, it helps to plan how you are going to present your case to the court.
A DUI or a violation of California Penal Code 23152 can seriously impact your life with increased insurance costs, license suspension and possible jail time.
It’s important to have a lawyer that is experienced in DUI Law and who can explain to you your options. As a former prosecutor, Ray Estolano has the experience to represent you- both in criminal court and before the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Immigration waivers are often necessary to waive bars to inadmissibility. For example, take the case of a spouse seeking to immigrate their spouse, who is here in the United States illegally. It may be necessary to file a 601A waiver to cure the grounds of inadmissibility and allow the application to be approved.
